Side effects of body detox

A body detox, while very effective in getting rid of toxins; does have some side effects. It is important to note the known detox side effects involved and that not all are negative side effects. A body detox does have positive effects.

Depending on the type of being used, the side effects could range from mild to adverse reactions. It’s advisable to choose natural methods of detoxification especially if you are new to body detox. This is so that you know how much your body can take before going for more advanced methods. Side effects are normally expected during the first few days of the .

Negative Side Effects
These type of detoxification side effects are part of the healing process and they are generally short-term with intensity being highest during the beginning first and second week of the detoxification process. Expect to experience some of these side effects:

HeadachesMood SwingsLoss of appetiteSore MusclesDiarrheaNausea Increased urination

According to experts, these detoxification side effects are just normal reaction of the body to rapid changes occurring during a body detox. During the detoxification process, your daily activities are altered and thus affecting your . Since light meals and fasting are parts of the body detox program, it may cause dizziness to those of us that are used to heavy meals. Do also remember that during the detoxification process, you may feel cranky as it’s part of the that you will experience; so try to control your feeling and not to let it out on the people around you. The good news is that these side effects are just for a short period of time only and once your body get used to it, you will feel a lot better.

Positive Side Effects
While the negative side effects may make you think twice about a body detox, you will be glad to know that one of the most noticeable positive side effects that you will experience is the loss of weight. It’s a welcomed side effect especially for those who are a bit high on the weight department. The loss in weight is mainly caused by fasting and reduced intake of food during the detoxification process. Elimination of waste accumulated before the start of the program is also part of the reason for the weight loss.
One of the major benefits that you will gain when you detox your body is the increase in after the completion of the program but some have claimed an increase in energy and feeling more energetic during the detoxification process. This could be due to the tremendous reduction of toxins within the body during the middle or near the end of the program and thus reducing the stress and workload on the body’s detoxification system.

Be prepared for side effects during the detoxification period and mentally be ready to overcome this tough period of strong craving. If you want to succeed with your intentions with your body detox then it is important that you wait it out even if you don’t always feel better right at first. Remember that your body reserves its energy for the important internal functions of the body so you might be low on energy during this process. You should try to take it easy physically and limit your social activities until your detox is complete and your body has time to begin to regenerate.

What you may mistake for your body getting sick or feeling bad is actually it trying to recover, remove the toxins and replenish itself. When you have patience and wait it out and when you understand up front that these symptoms may occur, it will make it all easier for you. When it is all over, you will feel all the improvements from your detox and you will feel much better than you did before.

It’s also advisable to seek medical advise from your doctors if you are on medications as a body detox can be very taxing on the body.

The Cambrian ended 488 million years ago. I would argue that corals and shellfish and other ecosystems have evolved quite a bit since then in response to changes in atmospheric and marine biogeochemistry. i.e. are now sensitive to rapid changes in pH.

I like your cautions against some aspects of the SBD. But I don’t really think they should be termed “negative side effects.” The SBD, to my knowledge, doesn’t require dairy and artificial sweeteners. I also use stevia, and I have no problem with dairy–I am sure that vegetables can also be a good source of calcium, but that kind of nutritional knowledge isn’t on everyone’s plate. The SBD isn’t perfect health-wise, but it is a good start for someone who wants to lose weight.

I'm working on a taper off Cymbalta, been on it for a bit more than two years, and thankfully haven't experienced the negative side effects to the degree that others do. They're there, I am aware that they can happen, and I truly hope somehow soon it becomes clear what we're doing with these drugs. The pressure on taking them to solve everything that's ever been wrong is terrifying.

    I am doing fine, Simon.

Yes, the healing process is hard work, but I recommend it. This is the only way to reclaim your life. As you change, all of your relationships will change. You will need to let some of them go. However, the new relationships you make are much more fulfilling. It was worth the loss of some of my dysfunctional friendships to make room for the fulfilling friendships that I have now.

    Take care,

    Dear Megan,
I am so sorry that you are experiencing this time of darkness. I know how difficult it is to think clearly when you mind is so fogged with depression.
You asked about eating healthy. If you are nursing, this is so very important! But, you have to watch your baby also for signs of food allergies. My favorite healthy foods, broccolli, made one of my babies scream with colic. I would suggest eating things like oatmeal for breakfast. Starting off with whole grains in the morning is good, also some protein like eggs. I would say yogurt if you are not nursing. The dairy can irritate young tummies. If you like fruit, make a fruit salad using your favorit fruits. Avoid things like sausage, bacon, cheese or any processed foods.

For lunch the good old fashioned green salad is always good. Use your favorite dressing. Dress up your salad with your favorite veggies, just don't cook them. I like to add things like sliced almonds or sunflower seeds to my salad to give it some crunch. Throw a little cooked chicken or turkey on it & you have a complete meal. I get tired of salad everyday so I change it up and add different stuff.

For dinner, I try to eat very little meat but a lot of veggies. I like to steam several veggies together like broccoli, cauliflower, onions & carrots. Or stir fry various squash with olive oil. I try new stuff. Green foods can be very healing to the body & mind.

I try to avoid processed foods; anything that comes in a box or can as an instant meal. It isn't always possible because I am cooking for more than just me. Also, drink lots of water. A good judge of how much water to drink is to take your body weight & divide that by 2. That is the total oz per day that you need. It takes a while to work up to that if you are not used to it. But a dehydrated body can result in a foggy mind.

You asked about fasting. There are 2 reasons to fast. One for body cleansing & the other is for spiritual cleansing. For body cleansing there are many fasts that work. My favorite is the Lemonade diet, called the Master Cleanse. You can goolge that for information on it.
If you are fasting for spiritual reasons then I choose my favorite thing to eat or drink and I fast from that. During my last fast, I drank lemon water and ate only raw veggies, sparingly. The duration is between you and God. If he is calling you into a fast, He will also tell you how long to do it. Email me dana@livingstones4moms.com if you have any other questions.
You are in my prayers Megan that you will find freedom from your depression very soon. Your freedom is in Jesus!

Guys … these engines are broken in at the factory already. It's not really required to stay under 4000 rpms, but not good for the engine to be held at top speed 100+ for a long period of time (illegal too), so don't just sit there for 1000 miles not going over 4000 rpms … not necessary at all. Common sense it's the only thing needed with these cars.

Your body will begin the cellulite detoxification process immediately. Drinking plenty of water will enhance fluid elimination from the fat cells. Noticeable outward changes can usually be seen within 6 treatments. A study of 36 women treated twice weekly for 8 weeks showed loss of inches in 100% of participants and visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite in 91% of participants. The treatments will focus on your problem areas such as hips, thighs, abdomen, legs, arms and buttocks.

    Dr. Drew,
While the topic that I would like to discuss was not included above, I would like to represent the opposing view to the disease model and 12 step treatment approach for women presenting with substance related disorders. This topic has been the focus of virtually every project that I have taken on
since my second semester as an undergraduate student. I am a non-traditional student…in my early 40's and have dealt with drug use/abuse in the past. Please consider my request. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

  29. Leslie says:

Julie is doing a fabulous job in getting this message out to a part of the world just beginning to feel the travesty that this vaccine has done to young women in the U.S. and in Europe. According to Diane Harper there are now more adverse reactions to Gardasil than there are cases of cervical cancer. In the U.S. there are now over 19,000 adverse reactions and over 60 deaths (between 1 & 10% reporting). Many girls are having abnormal pap smears with cervical lesions two years post vaccination. We must put an end to this vaccine pandemic that is threatening a generation of young women. Merck must be brought to their knees for what they have done. It is too late for apologies – it is too late for compensation. Our daughter's lives are our future.

  39. westino says:

Well, I think sometimes boys get so moody that these “mood swings” should be the definition of a word way worse than a mood swing, because I'm pretty for sure that a girls mood swing is not that bad and we usually have a reason! So take a deep breath, and maybe you should tell him to take a day in your shoes, because he wouldn't want you to treat him like that. If it doesn't work, maybe you should consider bad mood swings 24/7. Pay back sucks. :)
